Resolutions for the New Year

The opportunity to start fresh in the New Year is fast approaching.   In the remaining days of 2017, with holiday celebrations upon us, it is important to take the time to reflect on your life as a whole.

Setting goals for the New Year will help ensure that you are setting yourself up for success.  While most resolutions revolve around losing weight, exercising more and eating healthier, we would like to suggest ways to improve your daily life that are more emotionally focused.

Seniors- Reach out to an old friend who you miss. Or perhaps, make amends with someone from your past you haven’t always had the best relationship with. It’s extremely liberating and cathartic to move past old grudges.

Caregivers- Seek support through an online group or find a scheduled meeting in your area.  Venting can lead to validation which so many caregivers lack in their day to day commitments.  Unite with others in your community to advocate for your needs.

Grandchildren- Make it a habit of visiting and spending quality one on one time with your grandparents. Find an activity you can both enjoy and participate in together. These moments might seem small now, but these are great memories you will look back on in your life for years to come.
